Deployment guide

Deploy CalendarPrint for Outlook across your organisation

A guide for IT administrators rolling out the add-ins to users. There are two apps — the modern add-in (Microsoft AppSource) and the classic desktop add-in (per-user installer). One subscription covers both.

Every user needs a licence — an annual seat or a 30-day free trial. Buy seats on the pricing page; a seat unlocks all three apps (modern add-in, classic add-in, and the web app) for that user.

Modern add-in (recommended for org-wide rollout)

The modern add-in is distributed through Microsoft AppSource and can be deployed centrally from the Microsoft 365 admin center:

  1. Open the Microsoft 365 admin centerSettings → Integrated appsGet apps.
  2. Search for CalendarPrint for Outlook (publisher: NOVIX ApS) and choose Deploy.
  3. Assign it to the whole organisation, or to specific users / groups, and accept the requested permissions.

Users can also install it themselves from the AppSource listing. Requires a Microsoft 365 work or school account.

To use the meeting-room feature, grant one-time admin consent for the room directory — see Modern add-in consent. Everything else works without any admin approval.

Classic (desktop) add-in

The classic add-in installs per user, without administrator rights, via ClickOnce:

  1. Send users the install link (from the product page) and have them run setup.exe.
  2. ClickOnce bootstraps the VSTO runtime and .NET Framework 4.7.2 automatically if they aren’t already present.
  3. Updates are automatic — only changed files re-download; users never reinstall.

For a managed rollout you can distribute the install URL through your usual channel (email, intranet, or a management tool). It targets classic Outlook for Windows only.

To read shared and meeting-room calendars, grant one-time admin consent — see Classic add-in consent.

After deployment

  • Users sign in with their Microsoft account the first time; licence status is checked live against the seat you assigned.
  • Assign or reassign seats any time from your account’s licence portal.
  • See System requirements for supported clients and versions.
